My 54 reg Scenic 1.5 DCI' Dynamique' has just failed its' MOT ( 34,500 miles) due to ' offside front, front suspension joint has excessive play in a lower suspension ball joint '. It has been deemed perilous to drive, and I have a courtesy automobile to use. Apart from a tiny squeaking in the brakes, have I missed something ????? I’m shell shocked that I’ve been driving my children around in this ….. Has anyone had this problem, and is it normal for a vehicle of less than 4 yrs, with such low mileage to have this ?????

You may have hit a kerb or so; either way panic not: have it replaced and your MOT is fine again.
Suspensions aren't uncommon 'fails' .
I don't think it will be an expensive repair.

We have a Scenic and we will buy another. As I stated, you haven't missed anything, the MOT is designed to pick things like that up, which is why they’re good. get it fixed, shouldn't cost much and happy driving.
