hi

the serv light is permanently on in the wifes renault clio 1.4 alise auto but there are not stored fault codes. does anyone have any ideas why its still on?? I recently replaced the lambda sensor and map sensor.

Answer:
you might have to take the vehicle to Renault for a diagnostic, you state that you’ve a code reader but it probably only reads GENERIC codes were as the Renault reader will read in more detail and codes only used by Renault.

Answer:
It might be a problem with the ECU itself. I had a problem in my Peugeot where the engine management light kept coming on and my vehicle kept conking out, but no error codes were recorded, even after getting a mechanic from Pug in.. Turned out it was a fuse feeding the ECU or something, so when the engine conkied out, the ECU wasn't working and so wasn't recording the error codes!

Answer:
sorry but cheap code readers are like cheap coffee, not worth the cash.if the mil is on a code or codes is logged.you have 2 choices.purchase a new functional code reader from a reputable source(not one of those chinese firecrackers).or take it to a good indipendant for diagnosis.so far your ok as the mil is not flashing but it will and that’s a cat destroying warning.

Answer:
Is that not supposed to tell you that a service is due? There probably aren't any faults to be disclosed. Just have it serviced and the light reset.

Answer:
its not just a service reminder. i dont know why its coming on though.
