I don't comprehend why people hate engine noise? If I can't hear my vehicle I freak out cause I drive a manual, plus isn't it a lot more fun to drive when the engines reving up and down?!?!
lol
Answer:
The unequal length headers on most Subaru's give it a tiny bit of a rumble that some don't like. Plus because of the design, the headers are at the bottom of the engine facing the road so it sounds a tiny more exposed than a conventional engine. These are just a couple things that make a Subaru a Subaru. Also when you park the automobile after driving, the oil dripping into the pan makes a weird tapping noise that freaks people out but it's absolutely normal.
Answer:
Engine noise is only good/fun if the automobile is actually fast. A non turbo subaru is not fast, and therefore engine noise is extremely annoying.
Also in the real world, which you will comprehend better when you grow up, people need to commute to work in their car (life is unfortunately not all about canyon runs and track days). Silence is golden for a commuter vehicle. In fact, I switched a noisy semi fast WRX for a just as fast and very quiet 328i and I’m MUCH happier and more relaxed as a result.
Answer:
Subaru engines by their design, are somewhat noisy. It does not mean there is anything wrong with the automobile. What difference does it make if she gets annoyed over it.. it's you who will be driving the car daily, so her opinion is more or less moot. Subarus are great vehicles, IMO.. so much so that I'm on my second one. If possible.. put an exhaust on it.. and bring out the 'boxer rumble',…. it's a sound no other automobile has…
