Best car I've ever owned. I usually trade up every 3 years, but will keep this one for at least 5.

does it have the 2.0l 4 cylinder? the 2.8l 12v VR6? is it auto or manual trans? what's the body like? does it leak anything? does it rattle, squeak or clunk while driving? is it the MK3 body style or the MK4?
have the vehicle inspected by an auto shop you trust. that is the only way to find out if this car is worth buying.
but i can tell you i have had a MK3 Jetta with 2.0l 4cyl w/manual trans. it was great, no problems at all. i also had a MK4 Jetta 24v VR6 w/manual trans that was also great, no problems there either.
