I’ve a choice between buying a used Mazda 6 or a used Volvo S60. Both will be either 2005 or 2006 year models. I like the volvos classiness and power, but i've heard of its deadly maintenance costs. I also like the mazda 6 for its cheaper price and better gas mileage. Which one would you like? Has anyone driven both??
Answer:
i have driven both and repaired both and can report both are of superior than good quality [with similar parts and labor costs job for job] i would lean toward the volvo myself. [the mazda engine is a little bit raspy and the volvo shifts better by comparison] however if both are in excellent condition, either choice is a win mechanically…. volvo has a nicer interior but the mazda's gizmo's [electronic entertainment crap et al ] are more reliable
once again if cared for either one will last as long as you’ll want to drive.
Answer:
I would go for the Volvo for their superior safety and reliability. They do have good power and are well known automobiles. Mazda has a good SUV but I would not trust their automobiles. They are just a smaller company. Volvo just has great service, despite the price.
Answer:
The S60 is a great car. The maintenance on my S80 was more expensive than most Japanese vehicles, but it wasn't what I'd call deadly. The 6 is good, in its niche, but the mileage isn't spectacular….a little better than the S60, but not a lot.
