Hello. I live in Texas (if that helps with anyone who knows the laws here)

I sold my old vehicle more than two years ago… and just recently got an impound notice for it, and then a parking ticket. I went to the impound last week (I wanted to tell them to just sell the car or something)… and someone had went and picked it up. I asked him how to get my name taken OFF the title (since I just signed it, and he signed it) and they explained how. Through this they gave me the oppurtunity to get the information of the person that picked it up from the pound.

Is it legal to contact them and tell them to get the title switched over? Can I report the vehicle stolen if they state no?

Since the title is still in my name, therefor the vehicle is sort of in my name… I want to stop getting all of these notices and get it off my name.

I have sent them the paper back saying I have sold the car. Hopefully this will clear it up. Something else funny, the license plate hasn't changed in two years… does that mean they’re *illegally* driving it around (Since they can't get the registration on it?)

Answer:
I would get a lawyer and get it straightened out.

Answer:
LOL send a repoman to go get it for you. you should have signed a release form and that should have been filed with dmv to release you from the automobile if they got into an accident. if they get into an accident its coming to you. good luck

Answer:
something ain't right. if you still have problems might need to speak to a lawyer.
