So all my family lives on the isle of wight and i live in Brentwood, Essex.
Brentwood is renowned for being one of the hardest places to pass your test. For example my friend failed 6 times in brentwood and booked her test at hornchurch ten days later and passed.
Any how, i just wondered if it was acceptable for me to learn in brentwood, but book a test on the isle of wight and do it down there. Obviously i would go down a week before test date and have 2 or 3 lessons down there even though i know all the roads already. not looking for thoughts, just facts, such as would the dsa oppose to me doing this?

Answer:
no you can take the test where you want no problem

Answer:
You can choose the test centre that you want to go to.

Ideal opt for an area that’s familiar to you.

Local driving teachers will know the routes that their testers are using, so certainly worth a couple of paid lessons before you take the test, and that ought to mean that you can use their same automobile for the actual test.

Answer:
You can book your practical driving test for any test centre within the UK - who knows, you might begin learning in one town then move home to the other end of the country and have to take your test there. It's entirely up to you.

Answer:
You can take your test wherever you like as long as its still booked with the DVLA! That is why you get the option to book which test centre you want, and not automatically at the nearest one to you.

Answer:
There’s no reason why you cannot do this at all as long as you can arrange a driving school down there and can use the schools vehicle for the test.
Your point about Brentwood is most likely an urban myth though

Answer:
i expect they’ll not allow it as you don't reside there
