Hi everyone. I’ve a problem with the SUV I bought 5 months ago. I am noticing several things wrong with the SUV that I don’t think should have passed their inspection before they gave it to us. I actually just noticed a week ago when my husband changed the oil for the first time since we've had it. For starters, he changed the air filter - the old one was BLACK. I’ve never seen an air filter THAT dirty in a vehicle. Also, a couple of weeks ago something in the undercarriage started rattling really bad, especially when we drive over a bump or uneven ground. It's so bad that people turn and stare at us as we drive by. Also, our two front tires look brand new - or close to it, and the 2 rear tires are EXTREMELY deeply cracked. In fact, it looks so bad I’m suprised I’ve not had a blow out yet (knock on wood).
Answer:
Do you have a warranty? If not the dealer will likely fix nothing and rightfully so. An inspection is just that they looked at it. It does not state they'd fix anything that was wrong. How many miles have you done in 5 months? Maybe you overloaded the rear causing the tire problems. The best thing to do is read your paper work find out if you have a warranty or not then decide what you can do. Ulimately without a warranty you fix it out of your pocket.
