I’ve a 1986 HD FXRS that had the ignition removed and need to get it put back on. It seems like I'm missing a wire. Can anyone tell me exactly how to hook up the ignition system

Well, it would be very difficult to explain on the net? I would advocate spending the 20 bucks and buying a manual for your bike through your harley dealer. The manual for your bike will be like a chilton manual for a automobile, if u know what I mean? This manual will show each part on your bike with diagrams, and explain various jobs u want to do. hope that helps.

just purchase an after market ignition such as a dyna,spyke or crane hi4. the whole thing go's in the nose cone & they come with instructions.
or spend the $60 for a factory service manual.
