The correct answer is that anything drawing current will add to fuel consumption. Some answers above say that the radio comes from the battery so this won’t affect the fuel consumption. This is partially correct however the current used from the battery is replaced by your vehicles alternator. This in turn burns engine power and uses more fuel (very minimal).
Your heater fan, is the same and comes from the battery, it will use more power than the radio though.
The ideal thing is to drive slowly use as little acceleration as is needed, turn off all items that you can be without (as a previous person has said the A/C burns a lot of power). Don’t race up to junctions and brake sharply, but rather coast up slowly saving more fuel. Do not over rev the engine.
The main answer is do not let your tank get that empty!!!!
Answer:
The radio is run by the vehicle battery, so you can leave it on (it uses no gas to run). The heater is also ok to leave on because all the heater does is run air through the hot spots of the engine, and doesn't use extra gas.
Answer:
Yes. You can get about 1 or 2 more blocks when you turn them off.
Seriously, the radio doesn't even draw 1 HP of energy. And the heater gets its heat from the radiator (coolant). The only thing that uses energy is the fan (which again is less than 1 hp).
Good Luck…
Answer:
neither the heater has minimal effect on gas so does radio. the a/c is a different story and does effect mileage.
Answer:
I think it would makes more sense to make your way to the nearest petrol station….the heater and radio are connected to your DC vehicle battery cells.
Answer:
